MIKIMOTO: Premium Retail Brochure

CONCEPTS / ART DIRECTION / DESIGN After the success of the 'Cherry Blossom' themed annual retail brochure and taxi wraps, the client asked me to design and art direct their next brochure. The budget was a little more restricted this time around and with a smaller collection, but nevertheless, this was still a very exciting and premium project. I love choosing paper stocks and I was very lucky to get a pass on using a linen textured Fedrigoni stock for the cover! It is beautiful and compliments the design perfectly. Again, the collections spoke for themselves so the inner pages were clean, simple and elegant. I absolutely loved working for this client.

Front cover design with an elegant classical Japanese pattern. Die-cut to reveal Mikimoto logo and printed on beautiful Fedrigoni Linen texture paper for a traditional Japanese feel...

I also tried one of the pieces on a coloured background to really highlight / compliment the tones of the pearls.

Whilst art directing this shoot, I thought it made complete sense to capture the amazing detail of the rings in a '360' style - shooting the rings from 3 different angles to really show off Mikimoto's amazing craftsmanship. The design of the jewellery is A-symmetric, so no 2 sides look the same...
